My Story As A Small Business Owner
Are You A Small Business Owner WIth Similar Challenges?
I’m sure that my story is no different than a lot of yours.
Since I can remember, there is something about the freedom that owning my own business has always drawn me to. I’ve tried different things that for one reason or another didn’t feel like they were quite right for me, just not a natural fit. One common thing that all of my ventures have in common is that they provide a service to the small business community.
It all came to me when we moved a few years ago. While it was only 45 miles from where we had lived forever, it might as well have been the other side of the earth. We never realized how connected we were to our old community. If we needed a plumber, or someone to plow our driveway in the winter, we knew just who to call. We get to our new neighborhood and don’t even know where to start to look for help.
From this experience, I realized that I had now come full circle. I had owned small businesses and understood the tremendous challenge of marketing and advertising. At times, I felt like I spent my full time looking for new customers and struggled to find the time to run my business. And now the other side, having moved to a new area I didn’t know where to look for the help that I needed.
From this came the idea of GoldLatch.com. My dream was to create a website where people could find local people to help them with whatever service or product they need. Because so many things that you need help with require being face to face, yet others can be completed from thousands of miles away, the site allows the service provider to enter the number of miles from their base that they would like their listing to reach, A landscaper might not want to travel more than 20 miles from their home yet a web designer could design your site from 2000 miles away.
In my quest to promote GoldLatch, in order to promote all of the businesses listed on the site, I have found products that have tremendously helped me with SEO, getting more traffic to my website, bookkeeping, staying connected with my customers etc . By promoting the products that have helped me and therefore receiving a marketing fee for doing so, I am able to offer listings on GoldLatch.com for FREE at the same time passing along great recommendations.
What I have learned makes so much sense. When a company develops a product to sell, I’ve learned now that that is only the beginning. They may have to spend more money than the cost of the development of that product to market it. And marketing is not an exact science. There is no guarantee that just because you market something that you will sell it.
Instead, doesn’t it make sense that companies that have a product to sell would allow someone that loves their product to market it for them? And here is the best part, they don’t have to pay the marketing fee unless there is actually a sale. Everyone wins!!!
I have come so far through my trial and error and hope that you will take a shortcut and start by checking out the products recommended here on bizbae.com. And of course, there is no reason not to list your business on GoldLatch.com. How great is FREE! Imagine in the near future what we create together at GoldLatch could become a one stop place to find all small businesses.

Life as a small business owner can be challenging but if we all work together to build the ultimate network of small businesses while offering each other help and advice, it can get us through those challenges so much easier.
Sincerely,
Debbi Massé
